Hunter, Erin. (2005).  The Darkest Hour. Avon.
Book review by Quinn
The main character’s name is Firestar, a cat who’s trying to save his clan from a pack of vicious dogs. He defeats the leader but his leader goes over the gorge with them. I thought this book was awesome because it’s full of adventure fighting.

Book Review: George Washington’s Socks

Woodruff, Elvira. (1991).  George Washington’s Socks. Scholastic.
Book review by Naomi

When I first picked up George Washington’s Socks to read, I almost lost interest. As I was reading I liked the book more and more. The compelling story took me back to when George Washington and his troops were crossing the Delaware River. Five kids: Matt; Q,; Tony; Hooter; and Katie, jump into an old rowboat without knowing it. They paddle to the middle of Lake Levart, then suddenly vanish! This book is about their adventures and how they get back home, if they even do………

Book Review: Shakespeare’s Secret

Book review by Eva

I really enjoyed this book because it was slightly suspenseful, and it had a little bit of historical fiction in it. It’s about two kids who are looking for a lost diamond. The old owner of the house where the diamond is thought to be, leaves one clue. What that clue is, I cannot tell you, you must read the book to find out. This is an amazing book!!

Book Review: Scat

Hiassen, Carl. (2009).  Scat. Knopf.

Book review by Caroline

Scat is about two kids, Nick and Marta, who go on a hunt to find out where their teacher, Mrs. Starch has disappeared to. Because Mrs. Starch is the most feared biology teacher in Truman School, the kids are relieved, but things start getting weird, and the students get worried. The last time that her students saw Mrs. Starch was on a field trip to Black Vine Swamp, where she went back into the forest fire to get a student’s inhaler. Nick and Marta get into the middle of a serious adventure, including a baby panther, a friend accused of an arson fire, a mysterious person named Twilly, and some oil drillers seriously violating the law. All of this is happening while Nick is worried about his father.

I really liked this book because of all the intensity, mysteries, and suspense leading up to the amazing ending where everything makes sense. I also really liked the determination from Nick as he pushes himself to be a lefty with his father. I would really recommend this book to anyone who likes reading books with lots of suspense, mysteries, and reading about people who will do anything to save wildlife from extinction.

Book Review: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Book review by Naomi

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is an awesome but sad book. The magic world gets a new minister. Professor Dumbledore trusts Snape for the Defense Against The Dark Arts position,(BAD IDEA)! When Dumbledore starts to give Harry occlumencly lessons, he and Harry go off to look for a locket horcrux. Harry and Dumbledore go to a dark cave to find the horcrux. What do they find……I loved the book ,and would encourage everybody to read it!

Book Review: Dealing With Dragons

Book review by Andrea

Dealing With Dragons is a really good book. If you like adventure, mystery and much more this is your type of book. It’s about an improper princess named Cimorene. She likes to fence, cook and do magic. But her dad caught her doing all these things.

You can read the book if you want to know what happens next. I would rate this book 5 out of 5! I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

Book Review: The Clockwork Three

Book Review by Sydney

I thought The Clockwork Three was a really interesting book. I liked the fact where it starts with three people, who didn’t at the beginning know each other. They each have their own problem. Somehow, their problems come together, like turning gears of a clock. I think this is an interesting and exciting book! I think that if you like surprises you should read this book.

Book Review: Farworld

Book review by Jahnna
I think this book is good because there is a boy named Marcs
and a girl named Kayj who are from different worlds. They are in this
prophecy to save Far World from the dark circle. Marcus has a messed up
leg and Kayj is a wizard who can’t do magic.
I think that the book kind of scary. But, if you like fantasy and action then this is the book for you!

Book Review: Pretties

Book review by Elizabeth

This is one of those books that sucks you in from the first page to that very last period. It has action and mystery. You get to meet Tally, Shay, Zane and many more interesting characters as some fight to be free and some give up completely. I loved it because it made me want to keep reading, not let it get dusty, I really wanted to finish it and read the next in the series. If you choose to read this book, than beware, you will not be able to put it down till you are finished.

I have nothing bad to say about this book so take a chance and read!!

**** Four stars
